County Executive: Ellicott City 'ready' for weather

As much of the region prepares for what's expected to be days of rain, residents in Ellicott City, which was ravaged by flooding in July, were preparing for the worst.

Some placed sandbags in front of their businesses and homes.

"We're ready, but you never know for sure, so our emergency management office will be looking at the overnight, tonight. They'll be back in at seven tomorrow morning talking to the National Weather Service. We're in constant contact with the National Weather Service to make sure we know where any fronts might be coming through, any more serious weather," said Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman.
