ABERDEEN, Md. - Officials with the Harford County Fire Department say an adult and two children were taken to the hospital Thursday morning after a fire on South Law Street in Aberdeen.
The children are believed to be 3-4 years in age. The adult is a 26-year-old female.
The children and their mother are believed to be in serious condition. All received burns to their upper extremities and were outside the home when firefighters arrived on the scene.
According to a report released Thursday afternoon, the fire was contained to a bedroom of the second floor apartment of the two-story wood-framed home.
Firefighters from Aberdeen, Susquehanna Hose and Aberdeen Proving Grounds responded to the incident.
Investigators say smoke alarms were not operating in the apartment at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
