2 arrested in Columbia home invasion

Police are still searching for 1 more suspect

COLUMBIA, Md. (WMAR) -

Howard County Police have arrested two men believed to be involved in a home invasion and robbery in Columbia last week.

Jordan Ingram, 23 and Dennis Smith, 24, were each charged with robbery, burglary and theft. Ingram is also facing assault charges.

On March 28, at about 3:30 a.m., police responded to a home in the 9000 block of Watchlight Court.

The victim told police that he answered a knock at the door and was struck in the head. He went on to say that three masked men entered his home and stole a safe from his closet containing cash, gold, prescription medication and jewelry.

One suspect assaulted the victim before the three fled the area.

A neighbor told police they heard the commotion, looked outside and saw a white SUV leaving the area. Police found an empty safe in a nearby area.

During the investigation, a source lead detectives to Smith and Ingram, who were seen driving a white Mercury Mountaineer, which matched the description of the suspect vehicle.

Ingram was arrested and Smith turned himself in. A third unknown suspect is still not in police custody.

Some of the stolen property was recovered from the suspects homes.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police at 410-313-STOP.
