18-year-old critical after crash

GLENELG, Md. (WMAR) -  

Howard County Police say speed was a factor in a crash that seriously injured an 18-year-old man. 
 
The single vehicle crash happened at about 2:30 a.m. in Glenelg.  The preliminary investigation has revealed that the driver of a 2008 Cadillac Escalade, Zachary Jacob Hanlon  was traveling southeast on Tridelphia Mill Road in the area of Michele Drive when the vehicle left the roadway on a curve and struck a tree. 
 
Police say Hanlon was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle. 
 
Hanlon was flown to Shock Trauma in critical condition.
