BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford County Sheriff's Office said Prospect Mill Road in the vicinity of Elm Street in Bel Air was closed Monday following a single vehicle crash.
The sheriff's office said shortly after 8 a.m., a single-vehicle crash was reported where a vehicle had driven off the roadway and struck a utility pole.
A 74 year-old woman was initially reported in medical distress and then found to be in cardiac arrest. She was transported to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center where she is still being treated.
Witnesses told police they saw the victim drift off the road where her vehicle then struck a utility pole. It is unknown if she suffered a medical condition prior to the crash or if the caused her to suffer a cardiac arrest.
Crash Investigators remained on the scene for several hours after the accident.
