The shooting Wednesday morning at Emmorton Business Park came just as many were heading into work.
Chaos erupted inside Advanced Granite Solutions with people outside hearing gunshots from inside.
Kevin Doyle works next door and called 911. "They came from that building, three guys were screaming and you couldn't help but think somebody got killed. I didn't know somebody got killed. They were running over just hysterical and they were mumbling."
Meanwhile Erica Griffin works steps away at Island Spice restaurant. She says she actually applied to work at Advance Granite Solutions a month ago. As a server at Island Spice she said her schedule fluctuates and she happened to have today off.
This morning a friend called to tell her about the active shooter. "I came and checked it out and I was like this is just insane. I mean I can't believe it right behind my house. I mean I live directly behind these woods and I'm thinking oh great I wonder if he's going to roll through my house or something. I'm like I got my dog, I'm good to go."
