HAVRE-DE-GRACE, Md. - Havre-de-Grace is bracing for a British invasion this weekend.
They're kicking off the Maryland State Chesapeake Campaign to commemorate the War of 1812.
The British soldiers will attack the town and re-create the burning that happened 200 years ago on this day.
After the invasion, the celebration will begin. There will be a parade through town and a large flag will be unfurled by the Fort McHenry Guard.
-The arrival of tall ships starts at 3 p.m. on Friday (Pride of Baltimore II, Sultana).
-A full event reenactment throughout town including Ft. Henry fire and drums & Star Spangled Banner Flag Raising, British reenactors landing at the lighthouse grounds. This happens from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
-Matilda O'neil will tell her story on the lighthouse grounds at 1 & 3 p.m on Saturday.
-At 7 p.m. the Columbia Orchestra will perform as part of a ceremony with dignataries at the lighthouse grounds. This will end with fireworks.
-The Red Coat Run 5k Race starts at 7 a.m. on Sunday.
-The Kayak Poker Run starts at 10 a.m. on Sunday (registration starts at 9)
