The Harford County Sheriff's Office is warning residents that someone is pretending to represent the Fraternal Order of Police and collect funds for the families of two sheriff's deputies killed in the line of duty two weeks ago.

Deputies within the Harford County Sheriff's Office aren't represented by an FOP chapter. The Harford County Deputy Sheriff’s Union also does not call residents to solicit donations.

There were initially two GoFundMe sites established to donate to the families of Sr. Deputy Patrick Dailey and DFC Mark Logsdon, but the original funding through the Harford Sheriff's Foundation has ended.

Fundraising will continue through the Harford County Deputy Sheriff’s Union Benevolent Fund. You can also send checks to the Harford County Deputy Sheriff’s Union, P.O. Box 881, Bel Air, Md., 21014.

Checks can be made out to the HCDSU Benevolent Fund.
