The Howard County Police Department is investigating a serious crash in Eldridge that left two people injured.

Police said just before 2 a.m. a vehicle was traveling northbound on Route 1 near Levering when it struck a guardrail and overturned.

According to police, the passenger identified as Kimberly Mackey, 26, of Baltimore was partially ejected.

Mackey along with the driver, Gregory Turner, 35, of Glen Burnie were taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma for treatment.

Turner sustained non-life threatening injuries and Mackey is listed in fair condition at this time.

Detectives investigating the incident believe both Mackey and Turner were not wearing seatbelts when the collision occurred.

No charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing.
