Hidalgo was said to be an active member and grew a strong relationship with the children of his church in Aberdeen.

"To the congregation, he was an angel and he wouldn't want the congregation to suffer the way we are suffering, everybody loved him he was the best human being in the world." said head pastor at The Church of Pentecost in Aberdeen.

Members of the same congregation will carry handwritten signs to raise money in his memory, money for his teenage brother in Hartford, for his wife and 13-year-old son he supports in El Salvador and for his body to be flown back to El Salvador.

Hidalgo's body is said to be flown back to El Salvador on Monday.
