Harford County is taking active steps to help educate and bring awareness to the heroin problem in the area.

The Harford County Sheriff, Jeffrey Gahler, unveiled the H.O.P.E. House on Friday, which is an education tool designed to raise awareness and show parents warning signs of controlled, dangerous substance abuse.

Parents will also learn some signs to indicate if someone is using heroin or other drugs.

The H.O.P.E. House was put together by the H.O.P.E. Workgroup and was made a reality by the partnerships with the Harford County Sheriff's Office, the H.O.P.E. Workgroup, Harford County's Office of Drug Control Policy, the Harford County Narcotics Task Force, the Harford Sheriff Foundation, the Citizens' Police Academy Alumni Association, and the Harford Fire and EMS Association.
