Man injured falling from train in Harford County

Police say the man was on the train illegally

An 18-year-old man was seriously injured Sunday when he fell from a moving train police say he was riding illegally.

Shortly after 6 p.m. emergency crews were called to the railroad tracks between Clayton Road and Raspe Lane in Joppa, according to the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.

When paramedics and firefighters arrived, they found an 18-year-old man on the side of the tracks suffering from a traumatic injury.

He was taken in serious but stable condition to Johns Hopkins Bayview trauma center in Baltimore for treatment, according to fire officials.

Police believe the man was riding the train illegally when he fell, according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.
