FALLSTON, Md. - A 42-year-old man was flown to Shock Trauma while two others were injured after a crash late Monday night in Harford County.
Baltimore police confirmed that the injured man was an off-duty officer. The officer, who was not identified by Baltimore police, remained in critical condition at Shock Trauma Tuesday night.
The Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company reported that the accident – a two-vehicle collision – took place around 10:22 p.m. along Interstate 95 North near the Mountain Road exit. The accident caused one vehicle to roll over, ejecting the off-duty officer.
Fire officials said the man was critically injured while two additional patients were transported by the fire company to Johns Hopkins Bayview Trauma Center.
I-95 North was completely shut down briefly to land the helicopter. Maryland State Police are investigating the collision.
