Jarrettsville Creamery & Deli collecting items, donations for Harvey victims

As devastating pictures and video are surfacing from Hurricane Harvey in Texas, more local companies are stepping up and helping out. 

According to a JarrettsvilleCreamery & Deli Facebook event, they were asked by a customer if they could be a drop-off location for non-perishable items to support the people affected by Harvey. 

Without hesitation, the Creamery said yes!

On Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. there will be a donation trailer collecting any and all non-perishable items. 

Here are some items that are needed:

  • Baby food
  • Pet food
  • Human canned food
  • Toiletries: tooth paste, toothbrushes, deodorant, and bars of soap
  • Paper plates
  • Plastic knives, spoons, forks, and paper towels

Also, the Creamery will collect any non-perishable item to be delivered to Houston from now until September 12.

In addition to collecting food, on Thursday September 7, the Creamery is hosting a'Helping Hands for Harvey Victims' fundraiser. From 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. 10 percent of all sales will be donated to relief organizations in Houston.

There will also be two donation jars at Jarrettsville Creamery & Deli to cover the out of pock travel costs for the volunteers who are driving to Texas. Any excess money will go to a relief organization.
