BEL AIR, Md. - Harford County may evacuate flood prone areas Sunday.
Saturday afternoon Rick Ayers, Harford County Emergency Manger, warned those in the county flood prone areas may require evacuation. He provided the heads up that there would at least be a voluntary evacuation of those areas Sunday afternoon.
"Our emergency responders (both fire and police) may not be able to rescue people in those areas during the height of the storm," Ayers said.
Also, on Sunday evening, the county will open an emergency shelter at Patterson Mill High School at 7 p.m. Ayers said the shelter should be a last resort for those who have no other place to stay.
Ayers suggests anyone with dependence on electrical life-sustaining devices also consider alternatives.
