Harford Deputies investigating naked Facebook photos

EDGEWOOD, Md. - Harford County Sheriff's Deputies are trying to figure out how pictures of a dozen naked girls from Edgewood High School ended up on Facebook.

At this point, police can't say if a crime was committed, only that it appears the girls took the pictures of themselves and then sent them to someone.

Police say a third party put them on a now removed Facebook page.

Deputies are still checking to make sure none of the pictures are on other sites.

The Harford County School system has released the following statement about the incident:

The school system was notified by the Harford County Sheriff's Office about the investigation into this report of inappropriate pictures. Cybersafety  is an issue that we have been working proactively to address with local and state law enforcement and other stakeholders in the community. Unfortunately, this is an increasing trend and we will continue to work collaboratively with community partners to bring awareness of the resulting risks and consequences of this type of behavior.
