3rd Harford County law officer to die in a week

A 43-year-old Harford County deputy died early Thursday morning. According to the Harford County Sheriff's Office the officer had a heart attack during the funeral for another officer.

In a press release issued Thursday, the Harford County Sheriff's Office said Sgt. Loughran began to suffer symptoms of a heart attack on Wednesday during the funeral of Cpl. Charles Licato. Officals say Loughran died at his home Thursday, sometime after midnight.

Loughran was a 16-year veteran of the Harford County Sheriff's Office. He was married and had one child.

The death is the third of a Harford County law enforcement officer in a week.    

Cpl Charles Licato     was killed on September 6 in a single-car crash in Darlington.

Two days after later, Aberdeen police officer Charles Armetta fell from an elevated section of I-95  in Baltimore and died.

"Yesterday I spoke of a new star in the heavens when speaking of Charles Licato, today it seems a second star now joins him," said Harford County Sheriff L. Jesse Bane.
