A town house caught fire in Bel Air Monday afternoon just before 5:30 p.m.

Several fire companies in Harford County responded to the middle of the group townhouse at 514 Park Manor Circle.

25-firefighters were able to get the fire under control in ten minutes. A neighbor reported the fire; the family told fire investigators that they had left the home 45 minutes before the fire was discovered.

Officials say the fire only occurred in the kitchen but resulted in extensive smoke, soot and water damage throughout the home.

Harford County Disaster Assistance and the Red Cross are assisting.

Investigators estimate the financial loss at $50,000 for the structure and $25,000 for contents inside.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Maryland State Fire Marshal Northeast Regional Office at 410-836-4844.
