20 displaced in motel blaze

ABERDEEN, Md. - Twenty people were displaced when a fire broke out at a motel along Route 40 in Aberdeen, fire officials say.

According to authorities, the flames were reported just after 3 a.m. at the Aberdeen In Town Motel in the 400 block of S. Philadelphia Road.

Several fire companies including the Aberdeen Fire Department,  the Susquehanna Hose Company and the Aberdeen Proving Ground Fire Department brought the blaze under control in about 30 minutes.

Approximately 20 residents were displaced from the motel which offers both long and short term stays according to its website.

There were no reported injuries.
