More than a dozen people were taken to regional hospitals Tuesday after a pickup truck and a 10 passenger van collided in Jessup.
Around 7:30 a.m. firefighters and paramedics with the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services were called to the 7500 block of Washington Boulevard to handle an accident in the area.
When emergency personnel arrived, they found at least 10 people suffering from minor injuries. Because of the number of people involved, the department’s medical ambulance bus was called to the scene. The bus is equipped to transport up to 14 stretcher patients or 26 seated patients.
A total of 13 people were transported. Two patients were taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center, four to St. Agnes Hospital, two to Harbor Hospital and five to Howard County General Hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
