CHURCHVILLE, Md. - The accident happened at about 5:55 a.m. It left a 19-year-old woman dead.
Officers with the Maryland State Police Bel Air Barrack responded to the Priestford Road incident and found the 2001 Saturn LS driven by the teen split by a pole.
Elizabeth Anne Wald of Churchville, Maryland was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say a preliminary investigation reveals she was taking a left turn onto Preistford Road from Rolling Road and failed to yield the right of way. Wald's Saturn was struck by a 1999 Ford F-450 on the driver's side, before it collided with the utility pole.
Speed nor alcohol appear to be a contributing factor in the collision.
This investigation is being conducted by Cpl. McComas of the Maryland State Police Bel Air Barrack.
