One person jumped from a second floor window in an Edgewood townhouse after a fire began Friday afternoon.

A spokesperson with the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Department says the person jumped before crews arrived; they refused treatment.

Around 2:45 p.m., crews were called to the 400 block of Buxton Court where they found fire showing on the first floor. Fire crews from the Aberdeen Proving Ground, Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company and the Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company also responded.

The fire was declared under control shortly. No injuries were reported and the cause is still unknown at this time.

The Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal has been called to investigate.
