Crawford Windsor, 88, lost everything when the home that he built for his wife with his bare hands burned to the ground.
Crawford and Mary Lou Windsor have seen 31,152 gorgeous sunrises over the water from their Hooper's Island home. But it almost ended at 31,150.
At 88 years old, Crawford has to start over. The house he built for his wife 68 years ago caught fire Tuesday.
Crawford pulled Mary Lou from the burning home. He tried to use a hose and buckets of water to quell the fire. Together, they watched their life go up from inside their truck.
A little down the road at the Hooper's Island General Store the eggs are on and the coffee is hot and a few men are sitting around talking about what a great guy Crawford is.
Local man Scott Todd, is the man behind an effort to raise money to help the Windsors.
