OCEAN CITY, Md. - Ocean City Fire Department officials have not yet determined the cause of a two-alarm blaze that heavily damaged a three-story condominium Wednesday night.
OCFD spokesman Steve Price said that one firefighter received slight burn to an ear in battling the fire that raged for several hours at the Bradley-On-The-Beach Condominium Complex at 37th Street and the bay. About 100 firefighters from five fire companies, including three from Worcester County and one from Sussex County, Delaware, battled the blaze.
Although it sustained heavy fire, smoke and water damage, the structure remained standing. County investigators have yet to determine if the condo should be razed. Five top-floor units sustained heavy fire and smoke damage, as well as three more on the second floor.
Price said that there are nine structures in the complex, but only one adjacent to the involved building sustained minor heat-related damage.
