OCEAN CITY, Md. - Ocean City firefighters were battling a two-alarm fire at the Bradley-On-The-Bay Condominiums, which broke out Wednesday afternoon.
Steve Price, spokesman for the Ocean City Fire Department, said that several families were safely evacuated from the three-story, 15-unit structure. No injuries were reported but the blaze involved at least nine units on the top and second floors of the building, which is located at 37th Street and Coastal Highway.
According to Price, the structure sustained heavy smoke, fire and water damage, with the roof collapsing in several places. The fire raged for at least six hours and was not declared under control by late Wednesday night. Investigators were unable to enter the building to begin their probe into the cause of the blaze.
