The Rising Sun girls All-Stars are one step away from the Senior Softball World Series. They'll compete against regional rivals starting next week in Massachusetts. Players like Left Fielder Grace Harkey are trying to take the team's success one game at a time.

"If were going to win the game, then we'll figure out what we're going to do after that game," Harkey said during practice Wednesday, "We don't want to look up to anything."

But, the sudden success has some parents of players looking up the price of travel.

"If we go all the way, you're looking at $1,000 per child," said team parent Tricia Campbell-Leath, who has been booking travel and researching hotels since the team's State Championship win on Sunday. She's concerned that some families may have trouble making it work.

"You want them to shine in that 15 minutes that most people don't get in a lifetime," she said.

To offset costs, Campbell-Leath started a GoFundMe page where team supporters can donate money. She said it's important that the girls represent the state proudly.

"You want to make sure that you make your Governors, and your Mayors, and your families, and your pastors, and your local businessmen are proud to say, 'Win or lose, those are my girls,'" she said.

Families and coaches are hoping for a great experience as Rising Sun burns bright on and off the field.

"I'm most excited about building relationships with all of the girls on the team," said Harkey. "We've become really close and that's what makes it so much fun."
