A woman’s body was pulled from the North East River in Cecil County Saturday afternoon just before 1:30 p.m.
Maryland State Police say officers from their North East Barrack were called by the North East Police Department to check out a report of a white female’s body floating in the river near West Church Point Rd. Officers say the body was discovered by local police floating and without wearing clothes.
An on-call medical examiner responded to the scene and determined the woman had died recently. No indications of contusions or other marks on the body were found.
Clothing was found north of area of the river. Officials have not been able to identify the woman at this time; an autopsy and fingerprinting are pending.
The woman is described as between the ages of mid 30’s to early 40's.
