Fire crews were called to a home on the 100 block of Deaver Road in Elkton just before 9:30 p.m. Monday.

When the crews arrived on scene there was heavy fire showing from the single family home and reports that two people were unaccounted for.

Crews quickly got to work, but while working to knock down the fire discovered a body, the second was found Tuesday as crews were back on the scene.

The bodies have been transported to the Medical Examiner's Office for positive identification and to determine cause and manner of death. The fire origin and cause under investigation.

The one alarm fire brought 50 firefighters to the scene and it took approximately three hours to bring the blaze under control. The Singerly Volunteer Fire Department was assisted by multiple adjacent mutual aid departments.
