ELKTON, Md. - Ten people were displaced and two pets were killed in a town house fire in Cecil County over the weekend, according to a report from the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal.
Firefighters were dispatched to the unit block of Sage Court in Elkton on March 1 at about 9:30 p.m.
It took 40 firefighters and about 90 minutes to place the two-alarm blaze under control.
The fire damaged three town homes causing an estimated $200,000 in structural damage and $50,000 of property loss, according to the Fire Marshal’s Office.
The fire originated in the utility room of one of the town homes and was discovered by one of the occupants.
Three families were displaced and a dog and a cat died in the fire.
