Skeletal remains found in vacant lot

WESTMINSTER, Md. (WMAR) - Maryland State Police are trying to figure out how skeletal remains ended up in a vacant Westminster lot.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that a human bone was found by citizens as they walked through a vacant lot in the 500 block of Baltimore Boulevard, shortly before noon on October 6.

The walkers immediately called 911. Once police arrived, a search of the area revealed additional skeletal remains.

The remains were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for examination and autopsy.
