ELDERSBURG, Md. - A mechanic was killed Friday when he was pinned beneath a car he was working on, state police said.
Robert Edward Wolf, 65, of Severn was working at Car Finders of Maryland in Eldersberg around 4:15 p.m. on a 2005 PT Cruiser, police said. A jack stand used to support the vehicle became dislodged on the passenger side, where Wolf was working for about 20 minutes.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the incident appears to be an accident, and are continuing their investigation along with the Maryland Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
