Man steals hygiene products from Safeway

Police are looking for a man who pulled a knife and stole hygiene products from a Mount Airy grocery store.

Maryland State Police released photos of the suspect Wednesday and hope someone will recognize him.

According to state police, the man walked into the Safeway in the 300 block of East Ridgeville Boulevard around 3 p.m. May 16, tried to steal "hygiene products" and when store employees tried to stop him, the man pulled a knife and threatened the employees.

The man ran away before troopers got to the scene.

The suspect is describe as being in his 30s with some facial hair and wearing an Orioles baseball cap at the time. Possible tattoos were also visible on his right forearm.
