WESTMINSTER, Md. (WMAR) -- A Westminster man has been charged with negligent driving after police say he ran into a Sheriff's Deputy Tuesday afternoon.
At about 3:15 p.m., Master Deputy Matthew Wilson, a 5-year veteran of the force was traveling westbound on Route 140 near Mayberry Road when the crash happened.
The initial investigation has revealed that Darian Barron pulled out in front of the deputy while making a left turn from Mayberry Road.
Deputy Wilson was taken to Shock Trauma where he was treated and released. Barron and a passenger refused medical treatment.
Barron was charged with failure to yield right-of-way, negligent driving and driving with a suspended registration.
