Man burned replacing fuel pump in Carroll County

WESTMINSTER, Md. - A Carroll County man is in the hospital after a flash fire happened while he was fixing his car.

The State Fire Marshall's Office says the incident happened around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.  The man was replacing the fuel pump on his car in the 2400 block of Cross Section Road in Westminster when the flash fire happened.

The man ended up with second-degree burns on his face, hands and arms and was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Burn Center.
