Just over a week ago, Karen Osborne went outside her Frederick home only to end up in the hospital.  A bear viciously attacked her and now the recovery continues.

Osborne is finally home after a traumatic experience.

She was too exhausted to talk to ABC2 Wednesday, but says she's overwhelmed at the support and the Go Fund Me page that continues to grow to help her with expenses.

"It just threw us all for a loop especially me because I've been at the hospital with her most of the time," her husband, Ronald Osborne, told ABC2.

Osborne left her house to check on her daughter's dog and survived something so frightening, it sounds like something from a movie.

"The bear just attacked her she said the bear just seemed really angry," Osborne said.

Leaving Karen with disfiguring injuries

"He almost bit her arm in half, she got bit on the head, she has staples in her head, he got her real good above the eye that when i first saw her that was cut real bad," said Osborne.

Not to mention a collapsed lung, pelvic and dental injuries.

"She can't walk, I take her from her chair and put her in a wheelchair," her husband said.

The Osbornes had heard about the bear in the area but never thought anything like this could happen.

"Evidentially it had been aggressive a couple times or something so i don't know what the deal is with that I'm pretty unhappy about it," said Osborne.

Now the family is buried in medical bills and hopes a new Go Fund Me page will help with the mounting bills.

"When I heard about it I thought that's terrific because I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to pay for all these bills," said Osborne.

Close to $5,000 dollars has already been raised for the Osborne.
