Maryland radio legend Johnny Dark dies

Well-known Maryland radio personality Johnny Dark has died.

Family members confirmed Thursday morning that Dark passed away of cancer. 

Dark spent 30 years at WCAO in Baltimore, according to the Carroll Media Center. He introduced the Beatles during their 1964 concert at the then-Baltimore Civic Center.

He most recently was a DJ at WTTR radio in Westminster. 

Dark was 82 years old. 

Two years ago, Dark celebrated his 80th birthday by throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at an Orioles game with the Los Angeles Angels.
