A Carroll County middle school was placed on "lock out" Wednesday afternoon following a clown threat that originated on social media.
The threat, which claimed someone dressed as a clown would show up on campus and shoot it up, was directed toward Shiloh Middle School in Hampstead.
Nearby Hampstead Elementary was also placed on lock out, meaning doors are locked and no one can go in and out. Classes continued as normal.
