Thanks to Crohn's Disease, Ryan Anders, 14, has been in and out of the hospital since age 2.
Following serious complications like internal bleeding, fatigue and a weakened immune system, the Baltimore County teen needed big adjustments.
"When he was in school, he would be in for about a week and be sick for about three," says his mother, Stacy Anders.
Now, Ryan spends a lot of time at home gaming on his computer. When the Kids Wish Network asked him what he wanted, the choice was easy.
"He ran around the house like crazy," his mom said.
His wish was their command.
The Kids Wish Network teamed with Wal-Mart to get Ryan a new high-end gaming PC. The store also threw in a new LED Monitor, headset, computer desk and chair.
Employees greeted Ryan's family with the gifts and a cake Monday morning at the Dundalk Wal-Mart on North Point Boulevard.
"This is like Christmas but in the middle of spring," Ryan said.
His favorite game is "Battlefield 4," a multiplayer war game that helps him interact with others online during long stretches in the house.
Ryan's special day will be capped off by Friendly's, which is catering a dinner at home for his family.
