TOWSON, Md. - Two malls in the Baltimore area will remove ecoATMs by the end of the year.
ABC2 News first showed you the machines this summer . The kiosks pay users for old cell phones.
But critics say the machines are a dumping ground for stolen cell phones, giving thieves access to quick cash.
According to Baltimore County Councilman David Marks, the machines at Towson Town Center and the White Marsh Mall will be gone.
Marks says many believe stolen cell phones from Towson and Parkville recently were dumped there.
