Students across the country left class to protest against gun violence Friday. Students at Catonsville High School in Baltimore County also participated in the protest.

These teens also participated in the demonstration in March which called for gun reform following the Parkland, Florida school shooting.

The message was the same. Students want lawmakers to pass legislation that prohibits assault weapons and increases safety in schools.

"We're very emotional, we're angry, we're sad, we are scared,” said Sofia Brouse, a tenth grader at Catonsville High School. “It's scary to walk the halls to realize that kids just like us are being killed in a place that's supposed to be safe."

From Atlanta, to Washington D.C and New York, thousands of students walked out of class.

The protests have become a growing movement led by students demanding real action.

Students chose Friday April 20 to march to mark the 19th anniversary of the shooting at Columbine High School. Thirteen people were killed on April 20, 1999.
