A wintry mix hit the Baltimore area Wednesday , bringing snow plows and salt trucks out for the first time in many areas. But, it wasn't all bad.
Ayd Hardware on York Road in Towson saw a little boost in business on the day after Christmas.
The hot items were weather related -- snow shovels, ice melt and sleds.
"It's been good," said owner Vincent Ayd. "People are trickling in to get their supplies."
Vincent Ayd said he was caught a little off guard by the snow, but was confident it would have a small impact on his supply of snow related items.
"I thought it was going to be more of a sleet type thing," he said. "...I don't think we'll go through all our stock on this storm. There's plenty available right now."
As of noon, Ayd Hardware had sold at least two dozen snow shovels. The store was very busy between 10 a.m. and that time.
"It's nice to see snow," Ayd said. "Even if it is the day after Christmas."
