Baltimore County is scheduled Tuesday to unveil the newest safety measure for area elementary schools.
Plans for a beefed up security system came in the wake of the shooting in Newtown, Conn. in 2012 and the shooting at Perry Hall High School that injured one student that same year.
County, school and police officials will demonstrate the new $3.7 million networked security camera system Tuesday.
The new system will give police direct access to every surveillance camera in every elementary school in Baltimore County. Baltimore County middle and high schools already have security cameras installed.
