Residents of Charlestown retirement community's wood shop made 143 vintage wooden toys to give to underprivileged children for holiday gifts.

The toys were delivered to the U.S. Marines for its Toys for Tots project this week.

The toys included several pull toys of trains, fish that wiggle when pulled, simple wood puzzles, piggy banks, shape fit toys, stack block type toys, wood road graders, old time cars and pick-ups and cradles with hand sewn dolls.

Charlestown's resident elves made the toys in their wood shop, starting in April.
