Baltimore County police said a suspect has been apprehended after a police chase on Liberty Road.

According to police, the incident began just after 8:30p.m. Friday when officers on patrol in the Milford Mill area located a vehicle matching the description of a stolen 2013 Honda from Baltimore City. Officers attempted to stop the suspect and arrest the occupants near Liberty Road and Milford Mill Road.

The officers tried to block the vehicle using two separate police cruisers. pursued the suspect. The  officers got out and identified themselves, but the driver drove forward, pushing the police car.  The driver then put the car in reverse and did the same to the police cruiser in the back. This action caused the cruiser to strike an officer, knocking him onto the ground.

The suspect vehicle struck three civilian cars before driving directly towards a police officer, prompting the officer to use his gun. The officer shot at the vehicle out of self defense, striking the vehicle. Police say even still, the car began to flee police once more but came to a stop at Liberty and Sussex roads because it became inoperable.

A 23-year-old man was apprehended and placed in police custody. Police said three other occupants of the car were also taken into custody.  The passenger rider in the vehicle, a woman, was struck as a result of the shooting. She was transported to an hospital for treatment.

The 11 victims in the civilian vehicles struck by the suspect vehicle refused medical transport.

Police say the 23-year-old is wanted in multiple jurisdictions. Charges are pending.

Three other occupants, all women, were taken in for questioning but have since been released with no charges.

Body-worn camera footage from the scene is part of the ongoing investigation and will not be released at this time.

Police say the officer involved in the shooting will be placed on administrative status while the incident is reviewed. This a standard procedure.
