ESSEX, Md. - Baltimore County Police and Emergency officials were on the scene of a fatal car collision in Essex Tuesday evening.
According to Baltimore County Emergency Management, around 7:45 p.m. first responders were called to the intersection of Hyde Park Road and South Marlyn Avenue in Essex for a reported motor vehicle collision.
When emergency crews arrived, they found a person that had died in the crash, the office of Emergency Management said.
The driver killed in the accident has been identified as 32-year-old Jerome Matthew Ziemski of Cranford Road. Officials say he was killed as his 2008 Chevrolet Corvette left the road, overturned and struck a tree.
No one else was in the vehicle, and officials say what caused Ziemski's vehicle to leave the road has yet to be determined.
