OVERLEA, Md. - Baltimore County Police are investigating after a car crashed into a man killing him Tuesday night in Overlea.
At approximately 9 p.m. police and fire personnel responded to the area of Belair Road and Fuller Avenue for reports of a pedestrian that had been struck by a car.
EMS responders transported the man to Franklin Square Hospital where he later died, police said.
The pedestrian was identified as Gary Leahey, 53, of the 7900 block of St. Gregory Drive in Dundalk.
Investigators believe Leahey was crossing Belair Road just north of Elm Avenue when he was struck by a 2004 Hyundai Sonata that bad been traveling northbound on Belair Road. The driver remained at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Crash Team.
