Parking meters take a holiday vacation

BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (WMAR) -

A five-day parking meter holiday will make it easier for busy holiday shoppers to support locally owned businesses throughout Baltimore County.

From December 2- to 25, shoppers will get two free hours of parking each day at 1,735 parking meters decorated with red "free parking" bags in Catonsville, Towson, Parkville, Essex, Overlea, Pikesville, Arbutus, Stoneleigh and Dundalk.

"This time of the year it is especially important to support the owners of Baltimore County's local shops and restaurants," said Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz.  "We're doing our part with a parking meter holiday so shoppers can help keep the neighborhood economy going strong."
