Notre Dame set to unveil Love field

TOWSON, Md. (WMAR) - Notre Dame Preparatory School is set to dedicate a turf field named in honor of slain alumna Yeardley Reynolds Love '06 on Sunday, September 9.

Fashioned with accents of light and bright blues, which were Yeardley's class colors while attending NDP, this state-of-the-art turf field will provide competition space for field hockey, lacrosse and soccer.

With more than 18 months of planning, the $1.2 million field was realized through generous donations to both NDP and the One Love Foundation .

"Yeardley was both a stand-out lacrosse player and a stand-out person," said Sister Patricia McCarron, SSND, Ph.D., NDP headmistress. "This field is a beautiful reminder of her dedication as a player, student and member of the NDP community."

Love was murdered in her Charlottesville, Va. apartment in May 2010.  George Huguely was convicted in February of killing Love in a violent encounter after a day of binge drinking.
