Criminal charges will not be filed against any of the officers involved in Korryn Gaines’ Aug. 1 shooting death, according to the attorney representing Gaines’ family.
Baltimore County State’s Attorney Scott Shellenberger will meet with Gaines’ family and its attorneys Wednesday to discuss the conclusion of the police investigation, and will not be filing criminal charges, according to a Tuesday afternoon release from attorney J. Wyndal Gordon.
A release from Shellenberger’s office said no public comments will be made until then.

"The State’s Attorney’s Office felt that any decision in this matter be first communicated to the family of Ms. Gaines before statements to the public are made,” the release states. “There will be no further comment until Mr. Shellenberger has had the opportunity to discuss the case with the family of Ms. Gaines.”
Rhanda P. Gaines, Gaines’ mother, and Kareem K. Courtney, the father of Gaines’ 1-year-old child, are suing Baltimore County for $2 million and Officer Ruby, the officer who shot Gaines on Aug. 1, for $2 million.
