Baltimore commuters were literally left behind this morning as an MTA Metro SubwayLink train left four cars behind on the tracks.
According to commuters on the 7:11 a.m. Owings Mills train, passengers heard a loud hiss at the Old Court stop. They say it took about five minutes before anyone realized the rest of the train left without them.
One passenger posted a video on Facebook of the incident. In it, you can see an open track in the 795 median until a few minutes later when the train finally comes back to re-attach the cars.
Maryland Transit Administration sent ABC2 News the following statement:
Shortly after 7 a.m., an operator stopped a Metro train outside of Owings Mills Station to investigate a warning notice. After restarting the train, four cars became detached from the six-car train for about five minutes. There was never a safety issue for our passengers.
